My name is Angelina Julius Chuwa, and I work as a Ferry Deck Assistant at TEMESA. I have been in this position for two years now, and it has been an amazing journey.
Before this, I went through different training programs that helped me learn about the maritime world. I trained at TASHICO for 3 months, then at TPA (Tanzania Ports Authority) for another 3 months, and later at TASAC for 4 months. These trainings gave me the skills and experience I needed to work in this field.
Working in the maritime sector has been a great experience. It is not always easy, especially for women, but I have learned to be strong, focused, and confident. Every day on the ferry brings something new, and I enjoy being part of a team that keeps people and goods moving safely across the water.
To anyone who is thinking about joining the maritime field, I say:
Come and be part of this exciting journey where passion meets purpose, and we all work together to build a better and greener future.
