I am a Tanzanian marine engineer and an emerging leader in the maritime sector, committed to fostering a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future for the industry. With strong technical expertise, a passion for progress, and a deep commitment to mentorship, I represent a new generation of African maritime professionals who are not only navigating ships but actively steering the industry forward.
Growing up in Tanzania, I developed a deep curiosity about how ships function and a strong desire to contribute to one of the world’s most vital industries: maritime transport. This determination led me to pursue a degree in Marine Engineering Technology at the Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI), where I consistently distinguished myself through academic excellence and practical skills in engine systems, ship maintenance, and maritime safety.
Throughout my professional journey, WOMESA Tanzania Chapter has played a pivotal role in empowering and supporting my growth. Through mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities, WOMESA helped me build confidence and forge connections with leaders in the maritime field fueling my ambition not only to excel as an engineer, but to lead and advocate for women in the industry.
Beyond my engineering career, I am passionate about inspiring the next generation. I actively participate in outreach and mentoring initiatives such as WOMESA Tanzania’s Catch Them Young program, which encourages girls and young women to explore careers in STEMparticularly in the marine and shipping sectors.
As I continue to grow professionally, I remain steadfast in my mission: to be a driving force in transforming East Africa’s maritime landscape and to ensure that women are not only included, but fully represented and empowered at every level of the maritime world.
